National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premier Science and Technology Organisation under the Department of Information Technology of the Government of India actively working for the past three decades in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Applications in the Government Sector.
NIC District Unit, Nalbari was setup in the year 1990 in the Office
of the Deputy Commissioner Building , Nalbari. Since then NIC is providing
IT service to various State
& Central Govt. Offices. Basically IT service includes following

Computerisation of Govt.
Office
2)
Email and Internet Service 3) Training of Govt. Employees 4) Inspection of Computer system installed under Govt. Scheme like MP/MLA Development fund. 5) Regular Monitoring of Community Information Centers (CIC) and IT support 6) Video Conferencing Service. 7) IT Support during Election time.

Minister of Panchayat & Rural development Dr. Bhumidhar Barman on
15th August,2001. 5) On line transmission of Counting data in recent Assembly Election-2006. 6) Randomised Software for allocating polling station to polling persons in Assembly Election-2006 7) Teachers Database for Elementary/High School and Higher Secondary School. 8) CIC Projects for 12 Blocks completed and running smoothly.
